Horseback rides:
Elusa-cheval, a horse-riding centre in the Gers region of France; how could we not think of horseback tourism? A large number of options are open to all those who wish to enjoy this activity.
From a one-hour ride to a trip lasting several days, there are plenty of possibilities for you to ride in safe, enjoyable conditions. The horses are adapted to and experienced in the practice of tourist rides, regardless of the level of the rider. All the trips offer an insight into the lifestyle of our region, where gourmet delights and good humour are always to the fore.
Among the riding possibilities on offer, several different formulas are proposed: a day out around the club among the Armagnac vines and the maize fields used to feed the ducks that are famous for their foie gras. You can also spend a two- or three-day weekend on horseback, meeting the men and women who have forged our land, with nights on a farm where you share the evening meal with the family. The Landes forest is nearby and you can gallop through it in the Bas Armagnac region, an area where food and drink reign, for a 4 or 5-day trip.
You can also follow in the footsteps of Henri IV; yes, he was from the area! Between the Gers and the Lot et Garonne area, the Pays d’Albret will welcome you for a 5-day voyage between the Baïse Valley and the Garonne River. We also offer a specific trip on the theme of fighting bulls, which are reared in our region. This ride takes place over four days at Easter, with an opportunity to meet breeders, visits to farms, and the possibility of seeing bullfights during a little "Feria".
A tourist horse-riding centre must offer sports tourism.
Horseback packing is a key feature of Elusa-cheval. We offer you the chance to practise this discipline at our club but also to take part in competitions in the region; a local competition is held at the club on 8 May each year.
Another aspect of the centre is professional training, with courses given for horse-riding tourism instructors to prepare for a Federation diploma or for the horse-riding option of the sports instructor state certificate.
